YOUNG MARINES EVENTS

INTRODUCTION: Drill Heroes: Knockout Drill for a Cause

The members of the Miami Valley Young Marines; a youth development organization boys and girls ages 8 through graduation of high school, have put together a fundraising event to help complete a veteran memorial in West Milton, OH.  This monument currently honors veterans from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam Conflict.  We are raising funds to get three more slabs for our Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Afghanistan veterans.

This fundraiser will be held on Saturday, 11 May, from 11 AM to 2 PM and will have groups of veterans, active duty, reserve, guard, ROTC, JROTC, and more will come together at the West Milton Municipal Park to compete in a Knockout Drill Competition.  Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each age group as well as the main event where all the competitors meet in one large group.  The 14th Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sergeant Major Alford McMichael, will be in attendance as a special guest judge as well.

We are reaching out to you in hopes that you might aid our efforts and make this event a success.  This can be as a sponsor of the event (a donation of $100 or more) or with an item or gift certificate that we can give away as a raffle prize.

If you would like more information on the event, please call Unit Commander Keagan Miller at 937-701.8217 or visit miamivalleyyoungmarines.com/drill-heroes.  Thank you for your consideration!
